How to Choose a Snowboard Package: What's in the Bundle and What to Check
A snowboard package can mean a board and bindings, or a board, bindings and boots. Here's how to read the bundle and when a package makes sense.
SkiTrader may earn a commission from shop links; it never changes the order of prices.
"Package" doesn't mean one thing in snowboarding. Some bundles are a board and bindings. Others add boots. So the first step is reading the full name, because a lower price on a bundle with less in it isn't a better deal.
Packages make the most sense for a first setup or for a growing kid, when you'd rather buy everything at once than match three pieces yourself. If you already know the board you want, or your boots fit well, buying separately usually gives you more choice.
Among 157 snowboard packages, 136 were available as of 4 Nov 2026, US shops, in-stock offers. All prices are in US dollars.
What's on offer
| Made for | Packages in stock at US shops |
| Men | 84 |
| Women | 41 |
| Kids | 10 |
| Unisex | 1 |
| Total | 136 |
One number stands out: 127 of the 136 are sold by just one US shop. Most snowboard packages are bundles a single shop has put together, so there's often no other shop to compare the same package against. That doesn't mean the price is high, but you'll want to check it another way. Look up the board on its own, then see what the boots and bindings would add.
It also means that many listings are the same board with different boots or bindings. A long list of packages doesn't mean a long list of different boards.
Three bundles that name everything
These three spell out all their parts in the name, which makes them easy to compare. All three are directional twins with 2x4 mounting, each sold by one US shop.
| Package (2027) | For | Board lengths, cm | Price |
| Camp Seven Dreamcatcher + LUX Boots + LUX Bindings | Women | 139–150 | $429.95 |
| Camp Seven Dreamcatcher + LUX Boots + Mystic Bindings | Women | 139–150 | $409.95 |
| Camp Seven Drifter + APX Boots + APX Bindings | Men | 153–163 | $399.95 |
The two Dreamcatcher bundles are a useful example. The board and boots are the same, so the only change is the binding: the LUX binding bundle costs $20 more than the Mystic binding bundle. That's how to read any two packages: hold the parts that match, and look at what changes. The Drifter bundle costs less again, but it's a different board for a different rider, so the price isn't a like-for-like comparison.
We haven't ridden any of these packages for this guide.
Kids' packages
The two kids' packages below show how much these can differ.
| Package (2027) | Lengths, cm | Flex | Ability | US shops | Price range |
| Burton After School Special Snowboard & Binding Package | 80, 90, 100 | Soft | Beginner, intermediate | 11 | $329.95–$329.99 |
| Jones Happy Mountain Package | 90 | Soft | Beginner | 3 | $349.95 |
The After School Special names a board and bindings. The Happy Mountain doesn't list its contents in the name, so check the shop's page to see what's included before you compare the two.
For young kids, a soft flex is what you want: a soft board is easier to turn and more forgiving when they catch an edge. Length matters as well, because a board that's too long is hard to steer. Kids grow fast, so it's tempting to size up, but a board they can control now will keep them riding, and that's the point of the first season.
Check every part's size
The lengths in a package listing describe the board. The boots and bindings have their own sizes, and they're the parts most likely to go wrong:
- Boots first. Boots are the most personal part of the setup, and a package is no bargain if they don't fit. If you can, try the same boot in a shop before you order. Our snowboard boot guide explains what to look for.
- Bindings to fit the boots. Binding sizes go by boot size, and each maker has its own chart. See our snowboard binding guide.
- Board to fit the rider. Length depends mostly on your weight, then on how you ride. If your boots are large, check the width too: our guide to wide snowboards for big feet explains why. For the rest, see how to choose a snowboard.
Also confirm that the size you need is available in that exact bundle. A listing can show several board lengths without offering every length with every boot size.
