Pick the Völkl M7 Mantra if you want a stiff ski with more width for mixed and softer snow. Pick the Nordica Enforcer 89 if you're an advanced skier whose ordinary day means firm trails and deliberate turns. The Mantra is unisex and the Enforcer is a men's ski. Their different widths make this a terrain decision before it becomes a brand decision.

A meaningful width gap
The M7 Mantra has a 96 mm waist against the Enforcer's 89 mm. The Mantra also has a much broader tip, giving it more surface to carry through soft snow. Choose the Völkl when your usual route leaves the groomer for fresh pockets and uneven snow between packed sections.
The narrower Enforcer is the more natural starting point for someone who changes edges often on groomed runs. There is less width between your boot and the edge. If your favorite morning is freshly groomed corduroy followed by firmer afternoon laps, that distinction matters more than buying the ski with the bigger number.
A skier who spends the same day crossing packed trails, soft pockets and churned snow has a stronger reason to choose the Mantra's width. It is still a compromise for deeper snow, especially for a heavier skier.
These are not gentle beginner choices
The Mantra has a stiff flex. The Enforcer is aimed at advanced and expert skiers and uses a wood-and-metal construction with a Pulse Core. Neither is a reason to buy beyond your ability. If you struggle to stay centered when the trail gets bumpy, a demanding ski can make that harder.
For a strong, heavier skier, the Mantra's stiff flex provides useful support when applying pressure through a turn. For a lighter skier at modest speed, that resistance can be tiring. Choose it when you have the strength and confidence to keep the ski bending through the arc, including after the snow becomes rougher in the afternoon.
Lengths change the practical shortlist
The Mantra stretches from 163 to 191 cm, while the Enforcer runs from 167 to 185 cm. That gives the Völkl more room at both extremes. A shorter adult may appreciate its shorter starting length, but a short stiff ski is still a stiff ski.
Tall, fast skiers can consider the Mantra's longest option for more support on open terrain. Its 13.7-17.9 m radius range also offers shorter carved arcs than the Enforcer's 16.5-18 m range. The Nordica's narrower shape remains useful for quick edge transitions, with a turn shape that suits letting the arc develop across a groomed run.
Which should you buy
Choose the M7 Mantra for a mixed-snow resort ski when you have the strength to work a stiff platform and want broader dimensions. Choose the Enforcer 89 for advanced, trail-focused skiing where frequent edge changes matter more than extra surface in soft snow.
The M7 Mantra has the lower starting price, but the Enforcer 89 has a much tighter price range. Compare your size before choosing on cost. Our carving ski guide and freeride ski guide explain the terrain tradeoff in more detail.
