The Ortovox Badger combines an aluminum blade with a hybrid grip for shoveling snow. High sidewalls and a raised central rib stiffen the blade, while grooves along the upper edge provide purchase for a boot. A centering feature guides the shaft into place during assembly. Its compact arrangement suits ski-tour packs carrying a shovel alongside other avalanche equipment and day supplies.
