Long approaches suit the MTN Carbon's lightweight touring build. Salomon uses carbon construction and an 86 mm waist to limit the load on climbs while keeping a narrow platform for edging on firm snow. Intermediate and advanced tourers get a ski focused on covering ground efficiently, with downhill handling that remains relevant when the descent is hard underfoot.
