Beginner Skis
Learning is easier when your skis respond without a fight. Look for a forgiving flex and a length that feels manageable as you practice stopping and linking turns. A modest waist width helps on groomed learning slopes, where you are likely to spend much of your time. Very wide skis add work without much benefit there. Your weight still matters: a heavier beginner may need more support than a lighter skier at the same stage. Avoid a demanding race ski or an oversized pair bought for distant ambitions. Good boots and useful lessons deserve just as much attention as the skis themselves.
