Carving Skis
Carving skis are for the days when a clean turn on a groomed run is the whole point. A relatively narrow waist helps the ski move quickly from edge to edge. Compare the turn radius at the length you would actually buy: a shorter radius favors tighter arcs, while a longer one likes more room. Flex decides how much effort it takes to bend the ski. Strong construction can feel secure on firm snow but tiring if you prefer relaxed turns. Skip race-focused stiffness unless it suits your technique, and consider how the ski behaves when afternoon piles interrupt the corduroy.
