MIPS Ski Helmets
MIPS is a low-friction layer inside the helmet that lets the shell move slightly around your head in an angled impact, and many makers now offer it across their ranges. It does not change how a helmet should fit. Start by measuring your head, then choose a helmet that sits level and feels snug before you fasten the strap. Adjustable vents are worth having if you ride through changing weather. Check that your goggles sit flush against the brim, with no gap across your forehead. Removable ear pads add warmth and can usually be replaced. Any helmet that has taken a hard hit should be replaced, even when the damage is not visible.
