Ski Mittens
Mittens keep your fingers together so they share warmth, which makes them the obvious choice for anyone whose hands go numb on a cold lift. You give up some dexterity, but most riders find they can still hold a pole and work a big buckle. Three-finger styles are a middle ground, leaving the index finger free for zippers and phone pulls. Look for a long gauntlet, a removable liner you can dry overnight and a soft thumb panel for wiping your nose or goggles. Extra fill does not help if the mitt is too tight, because compressed insulation loses warmth. Leave some room at the fingertips when you try them on.
