Wide Snowboards

Boot size is the starting point for choosing a wide snowboard. A waist of 260 mm or more measures the narrowest part of the board, while the width beneath your bindings also depends on shape and stance. Check your actual boot footprint and binding angles to judge toe and heel overhang. Larger boots may need extra room to keep them clear of the snow during deep turns. Too much width can make edge changes slower and demand more effort from smaller feet. If your boots are oversized, solve that fit problem first; a shorter outer boot can sometimes provide clearance without a wider board.
