Touring Ski Bindings
Touring bindings let your heel rise for climbing, but designs differ greatly in weight and downhill feel. Start by checking that your exact boots are compatible. Think about how much climbing you expect, whether you also ski lifts and how easily you want to switch between walking and skiing. Heel risers, brakes and adjustment range can matter more on a long day than a small difference on the scale. Match brake width to the ski and have mounting and setup handled by a qualified technician. Do not assume a touring binding behaves like the alpine binding you already know.
