Touring Ski Boots

Touring boots need to work for both the climb and the descent. Walk around in them with the cuff released, then close them and check how they support your skiing stance. A large range of movement helps uphill, but it cannot rescue a poor heel fit or a painful instep. Lighter boots favor long days of climbing; more substantial designs may suit shorter tours with stronger downhill ambitions. Confirm the exact boot and binding pairing, including the sole and any fittings the binding needs. Avoid choosing by weight alone, especially if the same boots must also handle many lift-served days.
